Building bridges between people and the forests, food, farms, and natural world that sustain them is the common thread between three farm-based education centers in the Northern New Jersey region: Snipes Farm and Education Center, Fernbrook Farms and Environmental Education Center, and Duke Farms. On Tuesday, September 13, join peer farmers and educators to explore the strategies for doing this work, and the infrastructure, programs and people that make it happen. Learn how each site engages kids and families in year-round learning on their farms through standards-based educational programs, bonfire birthday parties, summer camp, home school programs, junior etymologist workshops, family birding, CSA and Pick-Your-Own programs, and the largest allotment-style community garden in the country at Duke Farms. While touring each site, discussion will focus on how the organizations design and sustain their creative educational offerings. Bring your curiosity!

Participants will drive in their own vehicles. Maps will be provided upon registration. $30/person. Scholarships available. Email vera@farmbasededucation.org for more information.
