USDA’s National Organic Standards Board
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR 2017 APPOINTMENTS
Yesterday USDA announced a call for nominations for individuals to serve on the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) from 2017—2022. The Committee consists of 15 members from across the organic community, and provides advice and recommendations to the Secretary on the implementation of the Organic Foods Production Act.
This year USDA is seeking nominations for the following 5 seats to serve on the NOSB:
- organic producer
- environmentalist/ resource conservationist
- representative of a public or consumer interest group
- organic handler or processor
- scientist (toxicology, ecology, or biochemistry)
