The Food Systems Planning Work Group is a community of practice for those engaged in planning activities that impact the food system. Members include regional and municipal planners, food policy council members, and others who develop/use food system plans and policies. At each annual conference the group explores topics such as developing elements of food system plans and using collective impact networks to implement plans.
Group Draft Goals:
1. Advance the practice of food systems planning in the Northeast U.S.
2. Provide a community of practice for people engaged with or interested in food system planning to share information, best practices and lessons-learned about local, regional and state food-related planning activities
3. Provide an avenue for communication between the annual conferences so that members of the group can continue sharing resources and ideas through the NESAWG website and a listserv.
