Cheese Monger, Social Media Liaison & Assistant Cheesemaker (one position)
In June 2015, cheese monger and assistant cheese maker Kristin will be moving out west. We are looking for someone to fill her shoes, selling cheese in the farm shop, maintaining our social media presence, and helping in the cheese room and cave. This is a fabulous opportunity for a charismatic, outgoing individual to learn about making and selling farmstead cheese! This is a full time (4½ - 5 days per week) position, Wednesday through Sunday. This includes selling cheese on both Saturdays and Sundays as well as three additional days of cheese work. Training begins in late May.

Primary responsibilities include:
- Sell cheese in our busy on-farm shop and at occasional farmers’ markets or events.
- Educate customers about our farm and our cheese. Explain sustainable dairying, raising animals humanely, and making and caring for a variety of cheeses. Represent our products and our philosophy to customers.
- Assist with cheese making, clean up, and caring for cheese.
- Update social media, including Facebook, Twitter, and email newsletter. Assist with various other marketing projects as needed.

Starting Salary: $12.50/hour. Vacation and sick pay are available to long-term employees.

Experience and Skills
Applicants should be enthusiastic, intelligent and articulate with excellent people skills. Knowledge of our cheese or of cheesemaking/dairying is not necessary, but you should enjoy cheese and be committed to local, sustainable food. Customer service is paramount; you must be able to maintain professionalism and poise while working efficiently under pressure. You will be on your feet all day, and must be able to lift 40 lbs repeatedly. Applicants should have some retail experience or other relevant work directly with people. You should be comfortable working with social media like Facebook, Twitter and MailChimp. You should be a good driver and have a car capable of transporting equipment to occasional events. Good basic math skills are useful!

Farmers’ Market Cheese Sales Person
We are seeking a personable, motivated individual to help sell cheese.

Primary responsibilities include:
- Sell cheese at the busy Coventry Farmers’ Market every Sunday, June through October
- Educate customers about our farm and our cheese. Represent our products and our philosophy to customers.

Hours: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. every Sunday at the Coventry Farmers’ Market at Nathan Hale Homestead in Coventry

Starting Salary: $11/hour.

Training will begin in late May. The market begins June 7 and runs every Sunday through Oct 25. Applicants should be available throughout the entire market season. Additional hours may be available for occasional festivals, at the farm, or as a substitute at other markets.

Summer Cheesemaking Internship
Would you like to learn how to make cheese? We are seeking an intern for 3-4 days per week for summer 2015. This is an excellent learning opportunity for anyone considering a career in the cheese world.

Responsibilities include:
- Help make a variety of our cheeses;
- Help care for cheese in our underground cave;
- Help prepare cheese for sale;
- Sell cheese in our on-farm shop and at special events;
- Help clean up after cheese making.

*** You must be available to work both Saturday and Sunday plus 1-2 days during the week. ***

Intern should be hard-working and eager to learn and must work well with others. This is a physical job – you must be able to lift 40 lbs repeatedly and spend all day on your feet in a hot cheese making room or moldy cheese cave! We offer excellent first-hand experience, a dedicated staff and fun work environment, and exposure to all the aspects of running a cheese business. Many past interns have joined our staff or gone on to successful jobs as cheese makers or mongers.

Salary: $9.15/hour. Educational credits may be available.
