This event marks the final year of the Enhancing Food Security in the Northeast (EFSNE) Project, a five-year project funded by the USDA Agriculture and Food Research Initiative (AFRI). EFSNE has brought together researchers, educators, entrepreneurs, and community leaders from our twelve-state Northeast region. We have engaged the entire food chain from production to consumption in a major innovative, multi- and interdisciplinary, collaborative effort.

Our goals for this gathering are to:

  • Share our findings and learnings
  • Stimulate conversation and collaboration among food system researchers, practitioners, advocates and funders
  • Advance our collective work on regional food systems and food access

At this gathering, you will hear about and from:

  • 13 rural and urban participating communities in eight locations across the Northeast
  • Grocery store owners who have partnered with us in our research
  • Production, Distribution and Consumption Research Teams
  • Our five sister AFRI projects that are doing similar exciting work
  • Our unique transdisciplinary methodologies – successes and challenges
  • Community, Local and Regional Food System eXtension Community of Practice
  • Food Systems Modeling (FSM) and the FSM Learning Community

There is no registration fee for this event, and all meals and breaks will be provided. RSVP ASAP - space is limited. To find out more about the event and RSVP, please contact Kathy Ruhf at [email protected]
